Let’s face it not everyone can buy a MacBook Pro. The base model of the Apple MacBook Pro goes for 1,199 and the highest end model goes for 2,299. This is a lot for a bachelor to spend on a laptop. This post is dedicated on what else to buy besides a MacBook Pro after all I am a bachelor and have other expenses.

1) For starters I would buy a Dell Mini 10. These mini laptops are portable and you can take them anywhere. The price range is just right even with a 10 inch screen. The starting price is around 279.00 and you can always find a student discount somewhere. These laptops are just right for the price. I have one and they are just plain awesome.

2) Next up would be Toshiba Satellite Laptop. This guys has about a 15inch screen and awesome display. Customer reviews are awesome and it has a dual layer DVD burner for all those home movies you want to make or DVD backups. The price is at a cool 349.99. If you get it from Best Buy they offer a FREE Computer Set-up in Store.

3) Once only a PC parts manufacturer Asus has come up big in the laptop game lately. The price tag of 450.00 could be a little steep for some but this laptop is rockin. The screen size might be the same but this offers a web cam so I can take video chat with all my lady friends late at night. It even offers facial recognition so you can lock down your files and nobody else can access your private stash. Thanks Asus!
4) Next up Sony. Yep I said it. The Sony VAIO has been getting better every year. As a former employee of BBY I could tell you that these laptops used to fly off the shelves when they came in. This power house is amazing at getting the job done. You can do anything on this baby and it will never slow down on you. As a bonus this laptop is Energy Star efficient and you might be able to get a rebate on it. The price tag is higher than expected and you might have to whip out your credit card on this but it’s worth it.

5) So last but not least is the MacBook. The MacBook is different from the MacBook pro. The cost is lower at 999.00 and might have less features than the MacBook Pro but for me personally it was well worth the buy. My friends at the Apple Store were able to give me a discount for being a ‘student’. The missing features is a Fire-wire port,Media Card Reader, and a lighted keyboard. I personally do not need any of those things so for me it was well worth the buy. I even customized mine to look like Iron Man.
In all and all if you can afford it definitely buy the MacBook
