When I was younger, I loved the New York Knicks. But, I also liked individual players. Michael Jordan, Charles Barkley, and Shaquille O’Neal. After playing 19 years in the NBA, Shaq announced yesterday on his twitter page that he will be retiring.

Oh Kobe Bryant, a thorn in my side. As much as I can’t stand the Lakers, I can’t stand him even more. He is too cocky. Granted, he is a phenomenal basketball player and no one can take that away from him, but the way he carries himself and the way he acts on the court, it’s crazy. When Carmelo Anthony or Lebron James make awesome shots or assist in a great play, they at least smile with their team mates. Kobe has a stone cold look on his face like he is expected to be that good. Your not Michael Jordan man.
During Tuesday nights game against the Spurs, Bryant did something that has ticked off the lesbian/gay community.
First, a summary for you. After a referee penalized him for a technical foul, Bryant was caught on camera—and live television—referring to him as a “f–king f—-t.”
“Discriminatory slurs have no place on or off the court,” Jarrett Barrios, president of gay media watchdog group GLAAD, said in a statement. “Professional sports players need to set a better example for young people who use words like this on the playground and in our schools, creating a climate of intolerance and hostility.”
Barrios also said the Lakers should “educate their fans about why this word is unacceptable.”Bryant insists he meant no harm. “What I said last night should not be taken literally,” he said in s statement. “My actions were out of frustration during the heat of the game, period. The words expressed do NOT reflect my feelings towards the gay and lesbian communities and were NOT meant to offend anyone.”
Bryant didn’t exactly win over GLAAD.
“This statement is a start, but the NBA must now take action,” Barrios said. “No matter the intent, slurs like this fuel intolerance. The NBA has a chance to show leadership by taking disciplinary measures and sending a message that words like this have no place in sports. All sports leagues have a responsibility to create a safe environment for fans, employees and players.” (via: E!online)

FLAM’s Fashion Fail: Flip Flops
Flip flops are usually pretty gross. Wearing them at the beach is A-ok. Putting them on in your own home is totally acceptable. Getting the mail, and walking your dog? Also fine. But hanging out in public with flip flops is a bad look. Why not wear cooler footwear to max out your outfit? It’s so disappointing to see a beautiful girl wear a sexy dress and cheap Old Navy flip flops. People shouldn’t wear them while sporting nice clothes. You ever ask a girl out on a date, and she comes out wearing flops? It’s fucked up!
If you absolutely must wear flip flops cause you’re effin lazy, at least mix them up and wear clean ones. Those nasty once white but now brown/black flimsy sandals are filthy. Show some goddamn respect for yourselves.
